FOR BRIGHT IMPRESSIONS TO ARMENIA

Eco tour 7 days / 6 nights

During the ecological tour you will see the sights of Armenia and feel the atmosphere of village life in  Tatev. In the morning you will prepare a delicious rustic breakfast of organic products together with the owners of the house. In the garden you will help the hostess to gather vegetables for breakfast, milk a cow and after you will drink fresh milk.

The program is valid from May to October!

 

Day 1: Yerevan

Arrival and meeting at the airport “Zvartnots”. Transfer to the hotel. After accommodation and rest – an overview tour of our wonderful city. You will see the sights of Yerevan: Northern Avenue, built up by modern buildings; The Opera and Ballet Theater named after Spendiarian, Swan Lake, Cascade, famous for its unusual sculptures of modern masters. Further excursion to Matenadaran – institute and a repository of ancient manuscripts. The next point of our tour is the statue of Mother Armenia, where an incredible view of the whole city opens up. You have the opportunity to make great photos.

Day 2: Yerevan – Garni – Geghard – Yerevan

Breakfast in the hotel. Today you will visit the historical and holy places of Armenia –  Garni and Geghard.

The Garni Temple (1st century) is the only monument in the territory of Armenia that belongs to the era of paganism. It is believed that it was dedicated to the pagan god of the Sun and served as the summer residence of Armenian kings. In the village of Garni, we will organize a master class for baking lavash in the tonir.

The next trip is to the monastery complex Geghard. The monastery was founded in the IV century on the site of a sacred spring, originating in the cave. The monastic complex is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. On the territory of the complex there are numerous carved stone walls and free-standing khachkars.

Return to Yerevan. Free time for new discoveries in Yerevan.

Day 3: Yerevan – Khor Virap-Noravank – Areni-Tatev

Breakfast in the hotel. After breakfast  you go on an exciting journey into the past of Armenia.

The first stop is Khor Virap.

Khor Virap – monastery-fortress is located on a hill  from where a magnificent view of the biblical mountain Ararat opens. Khor Virap is one of the shrines of the Armenian Apostolic Church and a place of pilgrimage.

Noravank. The next attraction is the Noravank Monastery. In translation from Armenian Noravank means “new monastery”. It was built in the 13th century among the beautiful red rocks.

We will continue the tour  after visiting one of the wineries in Areni  and trying the delicious wine of this region. After wine tasting in Areni we will go to the Syunik region, to the cable car to cross the Tatev monastery.

“Wings of Tatev” – this is the name of the cable car, which is considered to be the longest (5.7 km) in the world. Passing over the canyon, you will feel a bird  and below – a breath of breathtaking beauty.

The road offers a fascinating journey. All this really makes the monastery of Tatev a tourist destination of the  world level. After 12 minutes of flight over the fairy gorge we will find ourselves in the village of Tatev. We will stay in one of the guest houses in Tatev for the night.

Day 4-5: Tatev

Within 2 days you will feel the atmosphere of rural life in Tatev. In the morning you will prepare a delicious rustic breakfast of organic products together with the owners of the house. In the garden you will help the hostess to gather vegetables for breakfast, milk a cow and you will drink fresh milk.

After breakfast we go to get acquainted with the history of Tatev Monastery.

After visiting the Tatev Monastery, we will make a pedestrian tour to the bridge called Satani Kamurj. The Vorotan River itself made the famous Satani Kamurj (Devil’s Bridge).

In Tatev, you also have gastronomic classes for cooking dolma and shish kebabs. You will take part in making homemade vodka, butter and baking bread in the tonyr.

Day 6: Tatev – Karahunj – Yerevan

With bright impressions from the life of the village we return to Yerevan. On the way we will visit a very mysterious place – so-called Armenian Stonehenge – Karaundzh.

It is a prehistoric monument consisting of hundreds of vertically placed large stones with through holes in the upper part. Many people think that  Karaundzh was an ancient observatory.

Return to Yerevan and accommodation at the hotel.

Day 7: Yerevan Airport

Depending on your departure, we advise you to visit the vernissage – fair of folk artisans in the open air. Here you will see a variety of souvenirs, you can buy and take away a piece of warm Armenia.
