Day 1: Yerevan
Arrival in Yerevan. Meeting at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Lunch.
City sightseeing tour: Monument to David of Sassoun (hero of the Armenian epic), Republic Square, Victory Park (Aghtanak), Cascade complex, statue of architect Alexander Tamanyan, Tsitsernakaberd – Memorial to the victims of the Armenian Genocide of 1915.
Free evening in the city. Overnight at the hotel in Yerevan.

 Day 2: Yerevan – Amberd – Byurakan – Gyumri
Breakfast at the hotel. Trip to the southern slopes of Mount Aragats in the Aragatsotn province.
From the Ashtarak road, a stunning panoramic view opens up of the extinct volcanoes Aragats and Arailer. Closer to the town of Ashtarak, the gorge of the Kasagh River becomes visible.
Excursion to the Amberd Fortress (7th–14th centuries), located at an altitude of 2,300 meters, on a triangular cape with breathtaking views of Mount Ararat and the Ararat Valley.
Lunch. Excursion to the House-Museum of the prominent astrophysicist V.A. Ambartsumian. Walk through the grounds of the Byurakan Astrophysical Observatory.
Continue to Gyumri, the administrative center of the Shirak province, Armenia’s second largest city by size and economic importance. City tour: “Gyumri – a zone of disaster, a zone of compassion”. Visitors will see the restored city, newly rebuilt and old churches, the new residential district “Ani”, and a monument to the famous French-Armenian chansonnier Charles Aznavour.

 Day 3: Gyumri – Marmashen – Dendropark – Lori Fortress – Odzun
Breakfast at the hotel. Excursion to the Marmashen Monastery (10th–13th centuries), a renowned spiritual and cultural center of the Pahlavuni princely family.
Lunch. The journey continues through the Lori province. Passing through Vanadzor, the administrative center of Lori and the third largest city in Armenia, located on the banks of the Pambak River at an altitude of 1350 meters.
The road continues through a tunnel under the Bazum Mountain Range, emerging into the Dzoraget River Basin.
Excursion to the Dendropark (Botanical Garden) – a lush green area with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.
Visit to Lori Fortress (Lori Berd), located on the right bank of the Dzoraget River. A breathtaking view of the river gorge opens up against the mountainous backdrop.
Overnight at a hotel in Odzun.

Day 4: Odzun – Sanahin – Haghpat – Dsegh – Fioletovo – Dilijan
Breakfast at the hotel. The journey continues along the deep Debed River Gorge (up to 500 meters deep), surrounded by impressive rocky cliffs.
Excursion to the Sanahin Monastery – an outstanding monument of Armenian medieval architecture (10th–14th centuries), a major religious, cultural, and educational center of the Kyurikid Kingdom (10th–12th centuries) and medieval Armenia.
Visit to the Haghpat Monastery (10th–14th centuries), a medieval Armenian monastic complex in the Lori province. The main church is dedicated to the Holy Cross. A small basin inside the church contains holy water, believed by the faithful to have healing properties, especially for those with heart conditions.
Lunch. Continue along the Dzoraget River Gorge.
Visit to the House-Museum of the national poet Hovhannes Tumanyan in his native village of Dsegh.
Trip to the village of Fioletovo, home to the Molokan community (a Russian spiritual Christian group). Enjoy a tea gathering with local residents.
Continue to Tavush province via the Dilijan National Park.
Accommodation in a hotel in Dilijan. Free evening.
Overnight in Dilijan.

Day 5: Dilijan – Goshavank – Haghartsin – Sevan
Breakfast at the hotel. Excursion to the Goshavank Monastery (12th–14th centuries), founded by the renowned jurist, educator, fabulist, and public figure Mkhitar Gosh. A unique two-story building housing a library and bell tower attracts particular attention. Beautiful khachkars (cross-stones) can also be found on the monastery grounds.
Visit to the Haghartsin Monastery, located 18 km from Dilijan and 6 km from the main road. The Haghartsin Monastery was built between the 10th and 13th centuries. Nearby (about 2 km away) lie the ruins of the medieval village of Haghartsin, which gave the monastery its name. On the grounds of the monastery was once the royal tomb of the Bagratuni dynasty, with preserved gravestones bearing the names of kings Smbat and Gagik. Several khachkars can also be seen within the complex.
Lunch. Trip through the Gegharkunik region to the Pearl of Armenia – the high-mountain Lake Sevan. The Sevan basin, home to one of the largest high-altitude freshwater lakes in the world, is a unique nature reserve with its own microclimate and breathtaking landscapes.
Visit to Sevanavank Monastery on the Sevan Peninsula.

Day 6: Sevan – Ayrivank – Selim Caravanserai – Jermuk
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit to the Ayrivank Monastery (9th century), which offers a stunning panoramic view of the high-altitude lake.
Explore the Selim Caravanserai (1324), a unique monument of medieval Armenian secular architecture, located at the Selim Mountain Pass.
Lunch. Drive over the Selim Pass (altitude 2,400 m) to the town of Jermuk, a famous spa resort.
City tour of Jermuk: visit to the Mineral Water Gallery, a tasting hall where guests can sample natural mineral springs.
Leisurely walk through the town and enjoy panoramic views of the Arpa River Gorge and surrounding mountains.

Day 7: Jermuk – Karahunj – Tatev – Khndzoresk – Goris
Breakfast at the hotel.
Journey through the Vorotan Pass (2,400 m), also known as the Gates of Syunik, offering breathtaking views of the Syunik Mountains.
Approximately 3 km from the town of Sisian in the Syunik region, explore Karahunj (also known as Zorats Karer) – an extraordinary Bronze Age archaeological site dating back to the 5th–2nd millennium BC. It includes megalithic monuments and what is believed to be one of the world’s oldest observatories.
Ride the world’s longest reversible cable car (5.7 km) – the Wings of Tatev – to reach the Tatev Monastery. The 15-minute ride provides stunning views of winding mountain roads and deep gorges.
The Tatev Monastery rises like a powerful fortress atop a cliff above the Vorotan River Gorge. Its strategic location on a promontory surrounded by steep, rocky slopes made it ideal for a fortified complex.
Lunch. Guided tour of Tatev Monastery (9th–17th centuries), one of Armenia’s most important spiritual and cultural centers, known for its medieval university (14th–15th centuries). The monastery also played a key role in the national-liberation movement of Syunik Armenians against Persian and Ottoman invaders (18th century).
Trip to the village of Khndzoresk for a panoramic view of the Old Khndzoresk Cave Settlement, a unique historical site consisting of natural and man-made cave dwellings.
Overnight in a hotel in Goris.

Day 8: Goris – Noravank – Areni-1 Cave – Areni Village – Khor Virap – Yerevan
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure along the picturesque Arpa River Gorge in Vayots Dzor Province.
Excursion to Noravank Monastery (12th–15th centuries) – a spiritual and cultural center of the Syunik region and Eastern Armenia, as well as the family burial site of the Orbelian princes. The monastery is beautifully nestled among red rock cliffs with stunning views of the surrounding mountains and the Arpa River Gorge.
Visit to Areni-1 Cave, a three-chamber karst cave located in the limestone formations of the Arpa River Valley. Archaeological excavations conducted in 2007–2008 uncovered artifacts from the Stone and Copper Ages, including a complex of mud-brick structures believed to have served household and industrial purposes. Among the discoveries is the world’s oldest known leather shoe.
Visit to Areni village, famous for its vineyards and winemaking tradition. Tour of a regional wine-tasting center or winery. Tasting of various local wine varieties.
Travel through the Ararat Valley. Excursion to Khor Virap Monastery (“Deep Dungeon”), where, according to the historian Agathangelos, Saint Gregory the Illuminator, the future first Catholicos of the Armenian Apostolic Church, was imprisoned for 13 years.
Lunch. The monastery is located just a few hundred meters from the Armenia–Turkey border, offering a panoramic view of Mount Ararat from its elevated location above the Araks River.
Return to Yerevan. Overnight at a hotel in Yerevan.

Day 9: Yerevan – Garni – Geghard – Echmiadzin – Zvartnots – Yerevan
Breakfast at the hotel. Trip to Kotayk province, to the village of Garni and the Geghard Monastery.
Excursion around the Garni Fortress (3rd century BC – 13th century AD) – the summer residence of Armenian kings. Visit the pagan Temple of the Sun, built by Armenian King Trdat I Arshakuni in the 1st century AD, as well as other architectural monuments.
Excursion to the Geghard Monastery (The Monastery of the Spear, 12th–13th centuries). The name “Geghard” is connected to the biblical spear brought to Armenia by apostles Thaddeus and Bartholomew, which was believed to be kept here—the spear that a Roman soldier used to pierce the side of Christ on the cross. The diamond-shaped tip of this spear is preserved in the museum of the Saint Echmiadzin Cathedral.
Lunch. Trip to the ancient Armenian capital city of Echmiadzin (Vagharshapat).
Excursion on the territory of the Catholicosate, the residence of the head of the Armenian Apostolic Church – the Catholicos. Visit the Mother Cathedral of Holy Echmiadzin (founded in 303 AD), the name meaning “Descent of the Only-Begotten,” i.e., “The Place of the Descent of Christ.”
Explore Armenian architectural monuments of the 7th century, including the churches of Saint Hripsime and the ruins of the Zvartnots Temple.
Return to Yerevan. Overnight at the hotel in Yerevan.

Day 10: Yerevan – Market – Vernissage – Zvartnots Airport
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit to the eastern market Tashir. Shopping for spices, herbs, and seasonings.
Visit to the Sunday fair Vernissage, where you can buy gifts, souvenirs, jewelry, and other handmade items made of wood, semi-precious stones, silver, and other materials.
Transfer to Zvartnots Airport. Departure from Yerevan.
