The excursion begins with a trip to Echmiadzin (Vagharshapat ) – the city, which is translated as “The Descent of the Only Begotten”.
Echmiadzin is the spiritual and administrative center of the Armenian Apostolic Church, where one of the most ancient Christian cathedrals in the world is located, and there was the throne of the Supreme Patriarch of the Catholicos of All Armenians in 303-484, and again from 1441. Since 2000, Echmiadzin has become a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Next, a tour to the churches of St. Ripsime and St. Gayane. After spiritual enrichment we go to the cultural center “Machanenz”, where you can get acquainted with the skills of carpet making or pottery. The center offers a variety of master classes in baking gata, cooking dolma, theater performances, during which guests will get to know better about the Armenian culture. Lunch in the center.
On the way back – an overview of the ruins of the temple Zvartnots (7 century.). Zvartnots in the translation from ancient Armenian means “Temple of Vigilant Angels”, a temple of early medieval Armenian architecture. In 2000, the ruins of the temple and the archaeological site surrounding it were included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Return to Yerevan. The tour will end with an excursion and tasting of the best varieties of cognac at the Ararat cognac factory. Feel the subtle taste and rich notes of the gifts of generous Armenian land.
