We are offering you one-day excursion in Gyumri, the second largest city of Armenia, located in the north western region of the country in the central Shirak. Gyumri is worth exploring as throughout centuries, Gyumri was the “city of crafts and arts”. Now it is home to some prominent museums, lovely parks and the impressive Kumayri historic district.
When arriving in Gyumri we start our tour with Kumayri, the oldest part of Gyumri, boasting some unique architecture that dates back to the 18th and 19th centuries. It is one of the only places in the country to see authentic urban Armenian architecture.
After walking in the center of the city we are visiting the Aslamazyan Sisters House-Museum, built in the 1880s, which houses more than 700 drawings, paintings and other works of the Soviet-era artists “Aslamazyan sisters”.
The next point of our tour is the Dzitoghtsyan Museum of Social Life and National Architecture of Gyumri.It is an old mansion, housing collections related to both history and the everyday-life of Gyumri, as well as paintings and other works of art.
The second part of our tour will be conducted by Gyumri’s famous painter and sculptor **Albert Vardanyan. He will introduce the architectural masterpieces in Gyumri, walk with you along historical places and streets in Gyumri and at the end of the tour you will visit the Vardanyans’ house -workshop to have an interesting conversation about art.
