THE MAGIC OF MOUNTAINS AND WATER

Embark on a fascinating journey through the historical and natural gems of Armenia.

Departure from Yerevan. Drive to the Geghard Monastery, located about 40 km (around 1 hour) from the city.

Tour of the unique Geghard Monastery (12th–13th centuries), partially carved into the rock. Its cave chambers have exceptional acoustics. The name “Geghard” is associated with the Holy Lance (Spear), believed to have pierced Christ on the cross, which was once stored here.
The lance’s diamond-shaped tip is now kept at the Etchmiadzin Cathedral Museum.

Tour of Garni Fortress (1st–4th centuries AD) – the summer residence of Armenian kings – and the Pagan Temple of the Sun, built in 77 AD by King Trdat. It is the only Hellenistic temple preserved on the territory of the former Soviet Union.
A trip to the blue pearl of Armenia – the high-altitude Lake Sevan (1,900 m) – is the heart and pride of Armenia. Its clear waters change shades depending on the time of day and weather. A tour of the Sevanavank Monastery (9th century) on the Sevan Peninsula. Return to Yerevan.
