Yerevan - Tbilisi Tour Program 7 days / 6 nights
Day 1. Tbilisi - evening sightseeing tour
Arrival at the airport, transfer to the hotel. Rest. Lunch.
A walking sightseeing tour of old Tbilisi begins with the district of the Tiflis sulfur baths Abanotubani, where the history of Tbilisi began. According to legend, it was on this place that the city of Tbilisi was founded. A walk to the mysterious waterfall in the Fig Gorge, where you will see amazing buildings built right at the very edge of a steep cliff. On the way to the waterfall, you will see the only Sunni mosque in Tbilisi.
Then, along the narrow streets of the old city, we approach the Metekhi Bridge and climb to the Metekhi Church (13th century), standing at the very edge of the rocky bank of the Kura. The first Georgian Christian martyr, Saint Shushanik, is buried in the church. An equestrian monument to Vakhtang Gorgasali, the founder of Tbilisi, is erected near the church. Ascent by cable car to the Narikala Fortress (4th century), from the walls of which a beautiful panorama of Tbilisi opens up, especially at night. Descent to Rike Park on the bank of the Kura River. Walk through the park and the pedestrian Bridge of Peace, built by the Italian architect Michele de Lucchi.
Visit to one of the most significant churches in Tbilisi: the Sioni Church, where the relic of the "Cross of St. Nino" is kept. Walk along Chardin Street, named after the French Catholic missionary. Now it resembles the Champs Elysees with numerous restaurants and cafes, boutiques and salons, wine shops and art galleries. This is a cult place in Tbilisi and a very pleasant street for walking. Here you will see a monument to the famous film director Sergei Parajanov, as well as a small sculpture of the toastmaster.

Day 2. Tbilisi – Bodbe – Sighnaghi – Kvareli – Gremi – Tbilisi
Breakfast at the hotel. Bodbe is a convent built in the 4th century in honor of the Assumption of the Baptist of Georgia, Saint Nino of Cappadocia. The grave of St. Nino is in the church, and not far away in the forest where Nino prayed, there is a spring and a bath with healing water.
Sighnaghi is an ancient town, famous for its fortress wall, which offers a very beautiful view of the Alazani Valley. It is also called the "city of love", because here you can register a legal marriage at any time of the day, and get a divorce only on one day - the 13th. A walk along the cozy, cobbled streets of the city and the wall of the Sighnaghi fortress, which offers a stunning view of the Alazani Valley. Lunch.
Next, we will go to the easternmost corner of Kakheti – the city of Kvareli. We will visit one of the largest wineries in Georgia – the Kindzmarauli corporation. You will have a tour of the factory and wine tasting.
The city of Gremi was the capital of the Kakhetian kingdom in the 16th-17th centuries. Founded by Levan of Kakheti, the capital was a royal residence and a bustling trading city on the Great Silk Road. Now in Gremi, only the fortress walls, the Church of the Archangels, a bell tower and a three-story palace remain, from the roof of which a magnificent view of the valley opens. Since 1999, Gremi has been an active monastery.
Return to Tbilisi, overnight stay at a hotel in Tbilisi.
Day 3. Tbilisi – Uplistsikhe – Gori – Mtskheta – Jvari – Haghpat
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit to Uplistsikhe (Lord’s Fortress) – an ancient cave city-fortress, one of the first cities in Georgia. Carved into a rock, located 12 km east of the city of Gori, on the left bank of the Kura River. The city arose at the end of the 2nd – beginning of the 1st millennium BC, experienced several ups and downs, is a multi-layered archaeological site, one of the most important monuments of Georgian culture. The only above-ground monument of the ancient period that has survived to this day. An open-air museum city.
Stalin’s House Museum – acquaintance with things belonging to Stalin, including some of his furniture from his offices, gifts to Stalin. The museum presents Stalin’s personal railway salon car. Lunch at a restaurant of traditional Georgian dishes near the city of Gori.
A trip to the first capital of Georgia – the city of Mtskheta, located about 20 kilometers north of Tbilisi, at the confluence of the Aragvi and Kura rivers. The city is the religious center of Georgia. This was the place where Christianity was proclaimed the official religion in Georgia in 337. The city-museum of Mtskheta is under the auspices of UNESCO.
Visit to the Cathedral of St. Svetitskhoveli (11th century), where the Tunic of the Lord is kept. Svetitskhoveli is one of the largest Christian churches in Georgia. It was built in the 11th century on the site of the first Georgian church of the 4th century. A walk along the cobbled streets of the city, where a small market with spices, sweets and souvenirs is located.
Visit to the Jvari Monastery (the Temple of the "Holy Cross"), which was immortalized in literature by Mikhail Lermontov (the poem "Mtsyri"). This is an ancient monument built at the dawn of Georgian Christianity in the 6th century (586-605). The temple stands on a high mountain, from where a beautiful panorama opens up to the confluence of two majestic rivers - Aragvi and Kura. The monastery is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Crossing the Georgian-Armenian border in Bagratashen. Overnight in a guest house in Haghpat.
Day 4. Aghpat – Sanahin – Sevanavank – Yerevan
Breakfast at the guest house. Excursion to the territory of the monasteries of Aghpat and Sanahin. Outstanding monuments of medieval Armenian architecture of the 10th-14th centuries, centers of religious, spiritual and cultural life of the Kyurid kingdom (10th-12th centuries) and Medieval Armenia. The monasteries of Aghpat and Sanahin are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Lunch.
Trip to the blue pearl of Armenia – the high-mountain Lake Sevan (1,900 m). Inspection of the Sevanavank monastery complex, built in the 9th century.
Arrival and accommodation at the hotel in Yerevan.
Day 5. Yerevan – Garni – Geghard – Matenadaran – sightseeing tour
Breakfast at the hotel. Trip to Garni Fortress and Geghardavank Monastery. On the way, stop at Charents Arch, which offers a beautiful view of Mount Ararat. Excursion around the territory of Garni Fortress (3rd century BC – 13th century AD) – the summer residence of the Armenian kings. Acquaintance with the pagan Temple of the Sun, built by the Armenian king Trdat I in the 1st century AD, as well as other monuments of the fortress.
Inspection of the unique cave (carved into the rock) monastery Geghard (12th-13th centuries) – the monastery of the spear, some of whose rooms have unrivaled acoustics. The name of the Geghard monastery is associated with the spear kept here, which, according to legend, was used to pierce Christ on the cross by one of the Roman legionaries guarding it. Lunch at a national restaurant.
Visit to the Research Institute of Ancient Manuscripts - Matenadaran, which houses a unique museum-storage of ancient manuscripts and manuscripts.
Sightseeing tour of Yerevan: monument to the hero of the Armenian epic - David Sasuntsi, Cascade, Republic Square, Tsitsernakaberd - Memorial to the victims of the 1915 genocide.
Return to Yerevan. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 6. Yerevan – Khor Virap – Noravank – Bird Cave – Areni village – Yerevan
Breakfast at the hotel. Trip to the Ararat Valley. Excursion to the Khor Virap monastery, which in Armenian means “Deep Pit”, into which the future first Catholicos of the Armenian Apostolic Church Gregory the Illuminator was thrown for many years.
Then the route passes among the picturesque mountains and gorges towards the Noravank monastery (12th-15th centuries) – the spiritual center of the Orbelian principality, where outstanding figures of Armenian medieval culture lived and worked. Lunch.
Visit to the bird cave – Areni-1, in which the oldest shoe in the world was found during excavations.
Trip to the village of Areni, which is famous for its vineyards. Visit to a regional tasting center or winery. Tasting of different brands and varieties of wine. Return to Yerevan. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 7. Yerevan – Yerevan Brandy Factory – Zvartnots – Echmiadzin – Zvartnots airport
Breakfast at the hotel. Excursion to the Yerevan Brandy Factory. Introduction to the technology of cognac production. Tour of the cellars, “Alley of Presidents”. Cognac tasting.
Visit to the Temple of the Watchful Forces, Heavenly Angels – Zvartnots (VII centuries). Visit to one of the 12 ancient capitals of Armenia – Echmiadzin (Vagharshapat) and inspection of the Cathedral of St. Echmiadzin (founded in the IV century) and the Church of the Holy Virgin Hripsime (VII century) located there. Visit to the Treasury of Echmiadzin Museum. Lunch.
Transfer to Zvartnots airport. Departure from Yerevan by evening flight.
