Yerevan - Khor Virap - Noravank - Tatev - Yerevan
Journey through the Ararat Valley. On the way, stop and visit Khor Virap Monastery (“Deep Pit”).
The tour continues through Vayots Dzor Province along one of the most picturesque gorges in Armenia – the gorge of the Gnishik River – to Noravank Monastery (12th–15th centuries), located 122 km from Yerevan.
Free time for lunch at Noravank. Upon request, a master class on preparing lavash and shashlik can be organized during lunch (additional charge).
Excursion around the Noravank Monastery territory. Founded in the 12th century on the site of ancient structures, the monastery features the only two-story church in Armenia, Surb Astvatsatsin, with narrow cantilever staircases, which can be a real challenge for some visitors.
Ride on the longest cable car in the world (5.7 km) to Tatev Monastery. The cabins offer a magnificent view of the mountains and the serpentine road. The ascent/descent takes 15 minutes. Tour of Tatev Monastery (9th–17th centuries) — a cultural and spiritual center of medieval Armenia, famous for its university (14th–15th centuries)
