CHRISTMAS IN ARMENIA 2026

Tour program 7 days / 6 nights

But we want to invite you to visit us in winter. Because even in winter it is very comfortable, incredibly beautiful, interesting and cool!!!
If you are tired of frost and cold, we offer you to spend warm days in Yerevan with excursions to Garni, Geghard and Echmiadzin. If you want to ski and skate, breathe in the clean mountain air, fly up the cable car to a breathtaking height, from where a stunning view of Mount Ararat and Lake Sevan opens up, then Tsaghkadzor and Sevan are at your service!

In general, let's get ready and fly to Armenia!!!

Day 1. (2 January) Yerevan – City Tour – Yerevan
Arrival in Yerevan. Transfer and hotel check-in.
Lunch at a traditional Armenian restaurant in Yerevan.
City sightseeing tour: Victory Park, the “Mother Armenia” monument, the Cascade complex, the statue of architect Alexander Tamanyan, Republic Square.
Free evening in the city. Overnight stay at the hotel in Yerevan.

Day 2. (3 January) Yerevan – Tsaghkadzor – Sevan – Tsaghkunk Village – Yerevan
Breakfast at the hotel. Excursion to the resort town of Tsaghkadzor. Visit to the Kecharis Monastery complex. Optional cable car ride to Mount Tsaghkunyats.
Trip to the “blue pearl” of Armenia – high-altitude Lake Sevan (1900 m). Visit to Sevanavank Monastery (9th century) on the Sevan Peninsula with a stunning panoramic view of the lake.
Drive to Tsaghkunk village. Lunch in a cozy guesthouse and restaurant in Tsaghkunk, where guests will enjoy delicious traditional Armenian dishes. Culinary master class on Armenian cuisine.
After the excursion and hearty lunch, guests can relax by the fireplace with a glass of wine or Armenian brandy.
Return to Yerevan. Overnight stay at the hotel in Yerevan.

Day 3. (4 January) Yerevan – Khor Virap – Noravank – Areni Cave – Areni Village – Yerevan
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure through the Ararat Valley. Visit to Khor Virap Monastery, which means “Deep Pit” in Armenian — the place where Gregory the Illuminator, the future first Catholicos of the Armenian Apostolic Church, was imprisoned for many years. The monastery offers a stunning panoramic view of Mount Ararat (5,165 m), which lies along the modern Armenian–Turkish border.
The route then leads through picturesque mountains and gorges to Noravank Monastery (12th–15th centuries), the spiritual center of the Orbelian principality, where prominent medieval Armenian cultural figures lived and worked.
Lunch. Visit to the Areni-1 Cave, also known as the Bird Cave, where archaeologists discovered the world’s oldest known leather shoe.
Then, a visit to Areni village, famous for its vineyards. Wine tasting at a local winery or regional wine tasting center.
Return to Yerevan. Overnight at the hotel in Yerevan.

Day 4. (5 January) Yerevan – Garni – Geghard – Lavash Master Class – Vernissage – Christmas Market – Yerevan
Breakfast at the hotel. Excursion to the Geghard Monastery (12th–13th centuries), partially carved out of the rock, with chambers boasting outstanding acoustics. According to legend, the monastery was named after the Holy Lance (Geghard), believed to have pierced Christ on the cross — the diamond-shaped spearhead is now preserved in the museum of the Holy Etchmiadzin Cathedral.
Visit to the Garni Fortress, the former summer residence of Armenian kings, including the Temple of the Sun (1st century AD) — the only surviving Greco-Roman-style pagan temple in the post-Soviet region.
Lunch at a traditional restaurant with a lavash-baking master class in a traditional tonir (underground oven).
Visit to the Vernissage open-air market, where guests can purchase souvenirs, jewelry, wooden crafts, semi-precious stones, and silverware made by local artisans.
Free time at the Christmas Market on Northern Avenue.
Overnight at the hotel in Yerevan.

Day 5. (6 January) Yerevan – Etchmiadzin – Zvartnots – Spitakavor – Yerevan
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Vagharshapat, the ancient capital of Armenia. Tour of the grounds of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, the spiritual center and residence of the Catholicos (head) of the Armenian Apostolic Church. Visit to the Cathedral of Holy Etchmiadzin (founded in 303 AD), the name of which translates to “The Descent of the Only Begotten,” meaning the place where Christ is believed to have descended.
(On January 6, 2026, travelers will have the unique opportunity to attend the Armenian Christmas Divine Liturgy, held in the main cathedral of Etchmiadzin and led by His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians.)
Lunch. Visit to the ruins of Zvartnots Temple (7th century), and exploration of other early medieval Armenian architectural monuments including the Church of Saint Hripsime (7th century).
Excursion to Spitakavor Church in Ashtarak, and visit to the historic Ashtarak Bridge.
Return to Yerevan. Overnight at the hotel in Yerevan.

Day 6. (7 January) Yerevan – Free Day
Breakfast at the hotel. Free day in Yerevan. Time for leisure, city walks, shopping, or optional activities.
Overnight at the hotel in Yerevan.

Day 7. (8 January) Yerevan – Megerian Carpet Factory – Market – Airport
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit to the Megerian Carpet Factory, a company with a long tradition of weaving Armenian carpets, known for its handcrafted rugs that reflect both classical Armenian patterns and modern designs. The factory’s museum exhibits how carpet-making traditions have been passed down through generations, showcasing the craftsmanship and cultural heritage preserved in every knot. Guided tour of the workshop and showroom.
Visit to the Central Market, a traditional Eastern-style market offering a wide variety of spices, herbs, dried fruits, and other local goods.
Transfer to Zvartnots International Airport. Departure from Yerevan.
