New year is a fine family holiday, time when desires and wishes come true.
In Armenia people love New Year’s holidays as everywhere: the atmosphere of fun and joy is not less hotter. We honor traditions, but each New Year has something special. For this reason New Year in Armenia promises to be eventful — it isn’t necessary to miss precisely.
Our capital is one of the most beautiful cities, and at New Year’s Eve Yerevan turns into a real fairy tale with elegant, sparkling festive fires.
Day 1. Welcome to Yerevan!
Meeting at the “Zvartnots” airport. Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation and rest in the hotel.
You have free time before New Year party starts. In the evening you will have an unforgettable New Year’s program at a restaurant with a banquet.
Day 2. City – Tour
Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast you will discover an extraordinary beauty of our city Yerevan. Accompanied by our guide you will walk along the North Avenue, go to the building of the Opera and Ballet House after Spendiaryan. You can even skate on a skating rink on the Swan lake near the Opera House. Then you will walk to the Cascade which is an open-air complex of modern sculptures. We will rise by escalator to the monument in Victory park and to see New Year’s Yerevan. Unforgettable impressions!
Return to the hotel. If you are a jazz lover you can have a good time in “Malkhas” Jazz club.
Day 3. Garni – Gegard
Breakfast at the hotel. Today you will have an opportunity to get acquainted with historical and holy sites of Armenia – Garni and Gegard. Garni is the former summer residence of the Armenian kings (1 century). The temple of Garni is a unique monument relating to a paganism era which has remained in the territory of Armenia. The legend says it was devoted to pagan god of the Sun.
We will continue our trip to a monastic complex of Gegard (12–13 centuries). The monastery was founded in the 4th century on a place of the sacred source originating in a cave. The monastic complex is included in the list of the World cultural heritage of UNESCO. The part of temples of this monastic complex is completely carved in rocks.
At the end of the excursion you will have dinner in a cottage in the countryside and you will try khash – an Armenian liquid hot dish which is traditionally eaten in winter.
Return to Yerevan. You can share the people’s joy in the main square of Armenia -the Republic Square. Bright fires, fun, dances, a lot of photos for memory.
Day 4. Echmiadzin – Zvartnots – Yerevan
Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast you will have a trip to spiritual and administrative center of Armenian Church –Echmiadzin. It is especially beautiful and fantastic in Pre -Christmas days. You will see the main shrine of our people – the Cathedral. On the way back you will see the ruins of Zvartnots Cathedral.
Return to Yerevan. Take a walk along winter Yerevan, sit in a cozy cafe or skate on the skating rink.
The last point of our program is a Farewell party in the warm atmosphere at a national restaurant.
Day 5. Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport. Departure.
