During this excursion you will get acquainted with landmarks of Aragatsotn region. You will visit Saghmosavank monastery, a 13th-century monastic complex located in the village of Saghmosavan atop the stunningly beautiful gorge carved by the Kasagh river. On the way to the fortress of Amberd you will admire the great letters of Armenian alphabet carved from stone.
Amberd is a 7th-century fortress located 2,300 meters above sea level, on the slopes of Mount Aragats at the confluence of the Arkashen and Amberd rivers . The name of the sightseeing is translated from Armenian as "fortress in the clouds". Near the fortress you can see Vahramashen Church, the 11th-century building.
The highlight of the excursion is a visit of “ArmAs” winery where you will enjoy not only the best sorts of their wine but also have a fine excursion around the “ArmAs” estate.
Return to Yerevan.
