National Costume Festival

On August 4, the fourth Yerevan Taraz Fest 2018 – national costume festival will be held in the center of Yerevan.

Within the framework of the festival national Armenian costumes and decorations, folk costumes of other countries will be presented.  The guests of the festival are representatives of the national communities of Ukraine, Poland and Germany in Armenia, as well as the embassies of India, Kazakhstan, Israel and Kuwait. For the first time at the festival Russia will be presented  too.
August 4 at 18.00 on the Northern Avenue  a unique event will wait for you.
Yerevan Taraz Fest 2018 is a real holiday in the heart of the Armenian capital: you can not only enjoy national songs and dances, but also try on the costumes presented at the festival and take a picture wearing them.

And at the end of the event a traditional fashion show in the framework of the festival will be held.
The organizer of the festival is the Yerevan Municipality, the festival itself is held within the framework of the three-month program of the Yerevan City Hall  called “Yerevan Summer”.

The main goal of the festival is the development of entertainment tourism in Armenia.

Since ancient times, the Armenian Taraz  has had an aesthetic value. National costumes of Armenia reflect the way of thinking of the Armenian people. The Armenian national costume not only expresses the identity of the nation, but it is also one of the main ways of preserving the personality. Taraz has a long history. It is rich and diverse, as  the diverse Armenian language is.
